When can my child level up?

If your child has completed 2 seasons and still aren't old enough to level up, we are happy to move them along quicker to the next level. We understand that every child learns differently. Please email us if you are wondering if your child is ready.

We want to sign up but we’re travelling in/out of town frequently.

Check out our flexpass class options or our 1-week AthletiKids summer camps. We offer 3, 6 and 12-class flexpass options to suit your flexible schedule and give opportunity for your children to attend when you are in town.

My child has never done a group class before / we have tried group classes before and my child is too distracted.

If you notice your child benefits from a quieter/smaller class, please mention to your coach to see what class options are available to make a switch should it fit your schedule or accommodations that can be made during class to ensure your child feels connected to their team.

All our classes meet children where they are at in their athletic journey and help them develop athletic skills in a way that is meaningful for them to develop physical literacy skills alongside their team. Please notify your coach if your child is just learning english or has recently had a big transition (ie. moving to a new country, new sibling in the family, etc.) so that we can tailor our instruction to the best of our abilities to make your child feel welcome, seen and connected.

Joining a new big group can feel intimidating, but we ensure that after 3-4 weekly classes your child will feel more confident in the class routines and community around them.

How long are Soccer Tots classes?

Sparks classes (30 min, Cheetahs & Shooting Stars classes (45 min)

Does my child need prior soccer experience to participate?

Not at all! Come as you are.

How many participants are in your classes?

We have a maximum of 15 students/class . 10 spots are booked by our league participants, and 5 spots from every class are reserved for our FLEXPASS holders to schedule their drop-ins.

If you notice your child benefits from a quieter/smaller class, please mention to your coach to see what class options are available to make a switch should it fit your schedule or accommodations that can be made during class to ensure your child feels connected to their team.

Are classes parent participation?

Both our Sparks & Cheetahs classes are parent participation. If your child is capable to participate in their Cheetahs class without a parent you are encouraged to stay on the side and watch but are not required to participate unless your child is having difficulty listening or following the class directions.

Our shooting stars class is drop-off and does not require parent participation though we welcome cheering and orange slices after class :)

Whats the difference between a flexpass and signing up for League?

Purchasing a flexpass is purchasing a package of drop-in classes up front, and using them at your convenience. Best for busy families who are travelling or who prefer to attend our classes on their own schedule. You can attend any of our locaations with your flexpass and must book into the class you want prior to your arrival to class. 5 drop-in spaces are allocated for each class. All flexpasses have an expiry date and our 6 & 12 class packs include a soccer ball.

Our league membership is a commitment to 1 weekly class at 1 location for the duration of an entire season (8 weekly classes). All league memberships include a soccer ball, and our last class of the season is celebrated with a award ceremony and certificate presentation. This is the best option for families looking for a fun weekend routine with their child, and the best way to consistently build on skills taught in our classes

How do I prepare my child for their first class?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to check in & pick up your soccer ball if its your first day of class.

Overall, your child should be comfortable in what they are wearing so they can focus on their class rather their their clothing/gear.

Sunny Days:

  • t-shirt/ light zip up for wind/warm up
  • shorts or light pants
  • footwear: shoes they are comfortable running in ie. sneakers, cleats, NO FLIPFLOPS/SANDALS

  • water bottle + snack

Rain/Water:

  • WARM layers: wool under layers are best to keep kids warm
  • Waterproof outer layer: muddy buddy or Rain jacket/pants
  • Toque *** please make sure hat is not falling in childs face its distracting and dangerous if kid cannot see while running
  • Waterproof shoes/boots **please make sure child can run in footwear

Do you run classes in the winter?

No. We run all other seasons except winter. We believe in outdoor programming and that can be more difficult in the winter. We may in the future look at other opportunities to be able to have winter activities.
